Kendra: "It's a Shame" That Holly Madison Can't Appreciate Past

Still shaking her head. Kendra Wilkinson shared her thoughts about fellow former Playmate Holly Madison's memoir in a new interview with Us Weekly on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the ABC Galaxy BabyFirst TV premiere in Beverly Hills.

"I just think it’s up to people what they believe," Wilkinson, 30, told Us of the claims made in Madison's book, Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny. "The proof is out there on The Girls Next Door. At the end of the day, people made up their minds already if they believe it or not. So I can’t dictate. I can’t manipulate anybody’s minds."

Madison's memoir is chock full of stories about the darker aspects of the legendary Playboy Mansion, where she spent years as Hugh Hefner's live-in girlfriend. She also opened up to Us Weekly in an exclusive interview this past spring about her misery. "I don't know what people think goes on in the bedroom," Madison told Us at her home, "but it was always very much the same, and intimidating, and not something that I liked. It was a miserable part of my life."

Wilkinson has defended Hefner repeatedly since the book's release in June 2015. "It’s a shame that someone can’t be appreciative of what something like that has given them," she told Us this past weekend, adding that she believed not all people were entitled to their own story.

Madison, meanwhile, told Us in May that she didn't think Wilkinson would even read her memoir. "I lived with Kendra for four years and I never saw her in the vicinity of a book, so I don’t think she’s going to read it," she dished. "Maybe she’ll have frenemies fill her in on what it says? But I don’t think she’s going to read it."

Despite their obvious differences, the Girls Next Doors stars (including Bridget Marquardt) have a unique connection. "The show bonded us together and turned us into a group," Madison recalled to Us. "It was kind of us against the world and not Hef trying to pit us girls against each other as much as it had been."

Wilkinson said she personally is thankful for the experience. "I’ve been doing this for 11 years now," she told Us on Saturday. "I’m used to the public knowing me, knowing about me." In the latest season of Kendra on Top, her husband's affair will be revealed in detail. "This is pretty much a TV diary of what we’re going through… This is my story. I chose to do this 11 years ago, and here I am, still here. I’m probably one of the oldest veterans on TV now."
